A marathon is what you make it! Joanne Sammons of Banbury, who is socialising a puppy for service dog charity Dogs for Good, wasn’t able to participate in the charity’s annual ‘dogtober’ challenge to walk 100km due to her own mobility issues. But she didn’t let that stop her – instead, Joanne decided to raise money by crocheting 10km of yarn into blankets throughout October. By the end of the month, the crocheter completed seven throws, each using a different stitch (“so I don’t get bored!” she says), using 10,090 metres of yarn.
