Catherine finds herself looking forward to winter crochet all year round
Winter often gets a bad reputation, with its cold days and long nights. In fact, I don’t know many people who look forward to winter. But speaking for myself, and I suspect many other crafters, it’s my favourite season. What’s not to like about curling up in the warmth at home with a hook in my hand, ready to embark on my next project? For me, winter is the perfect season for living out my yarny dreams.
GET STUCK INTO WINTER
The official start of winter is 21st December, which is an important date in my diary. By then, I should be slowly coming to the end of my Christmas crochet; in an ideal world the hooked decorations are hanging on the tree and the lovingly made gifts are all wrapped. From the Solstice onwards, I have free reign over my crochet and can make exactly what I want, which is inevitably something extra-cosy for me or my home.
