Throughout the drinks industry, there is an abundance of different names for the products that are being produced. From the obvious, more descriptive names that allude to either the style or location from which that particular drink was made to those that are much more creative. As shelf space is limited and each product vies for the attention of shoppers as they pass by, drinks producers (and more likely their design and marketing departments) are forced to get ever more inventive to find ways for us to buy their products. Rather than seeing standard names such as Marqués de Riscal Rioja Reserva or East London Liquor Barrel Aged Gin, there’s a tendency towards those which invite curiosity.
