TINA CHANTREY
When Storm Emma reached UK shores, spectacularly clashing with the Beast from the East, where I live was squeezed right in the middle. In a few hours snow fell heavily, roads started to close and I thought I wasn’t going to make it to Cyprus. Trains were cancelled within 30 minutes of the one I took to Gatwick. Yet, four hours later, I landed in Paphos, with its stunning beaches, beautiful ancient archaeology and cultural heritage (it was awarded the European City of Culture in 2017). This UNESCO World Heritage site is the perfect running escape during the British winter.
