Editor Angela Watts likes to publish the occasional anthology – something hopeful and cheering. During this pandemic year she’s chosen to publish a fantasy anthology with the theme of ‘light in the darkness.’
The story must contain ‘the element of hope shining through the dark.’ This may be subtle, just a hint of hope, or the leading theme throughout the story. She wants ‘bold stories with a lot of heart’. Stories do not have to shy away from gritty themes or dark topics but must have a ray of light shining in them somewhere. Stories should be fantasy or one of its subgenres except urban or paranormal and no fairy tale retellings.
