Total Cost £9,126

Good idea!

Choose a colourful wallpaper to add instant impact in the room. For practical reasons, wallpaper only the splash-free zones.

Karen’s main objective was to choose a kitchen that was practical and easy to keep clean and so the Wickes consultant worked on the design to fulfill Karen’s wishes

Karen Winch, 46, a childminder, was getting sick and tired of her whole house in Sevenoaks, Kent, where she lives with her children, Eda, 19; Ela, 14 and Jem, 10. Karen had spent the last few months decorating her house, room by room, but because the kitchen was constantly in use, it had been left until last. ‘I kept putting off the kitchen renovations because I work from home and I knew it would be very disruptive,’ Karen explains. The kitchen was so badly designed it was getting really difficult to cook and play with the children. It was such a cramped space, and when the old kitchen units started to fall apart, Karen knew she couldn’t wait a moment longer - it was time to start looking for a new kitchen.
