LATEST NEWS FOR 2020

MONDOKART news & preview

The number of drivers admitted to the championship finals is set at 36, and it will not be possible to test on the track in the 10 days prior to the race weekend. In the last meeting of the World Motor Sports Council held in Cologne on 4 October last, Cik/Fia approved the 2020 competition schedule and introduced some new features in international sports and technical regulations. As regards the first, see the dates and locations below, with the World Championship for single-speed classes in Brazil (Birigui) and France playing host to the gearbox-class karts in Le Mans, both as one-shot races.

Regarding the technical regulation, article 2.5.1.1 regards the vertical alignment of the front bumpers in metallic tubes, which conditions the attachment of the nose piece. Furthermore, art. 2.3.3.3 specifies that the axle and spindle supports (the front “Cs”) must be welded to the frame and cannot be disassembled. An important change for certain chassis that allowed special adjustable solutions for the front axle. It was also established that 6 tires may be used in the qualifying stages and in the elimination rounds, and a new set of four tires my be used for the final.
