TOUGH GIRLS
Two girls, Hamda Al Qubaisi and Maya Weug, have also been grabbing the spotlights in the two F4 championships of reference. The 19-year-old from Abu Dhabi, who landed at the Prema team court after taking six overall wins in the 2020 and 2021 Formula 4 UAE seasons, took her first podium on European soil at Misano, crossing the finish line in third position in race 1. Hamda then managed to return to the top-10 on two other occasions, confirming a nice progression compared to 2020. Instead, Maya Weug, the first girl to enter the Ferrari Driver Academy, has only just graced the points so far. Deployed by Iron Lynx, the Dutch girl showed great character on the track, becoming the protagonist of some no holds barred duels with her opponents, and hitting a top-10 at Spielberg in the German series, where she finished ninth in race 1. In the Italian championship, on the other hand, she led the ranking reserved for rookies for a long time, thanks to three podiums in the category.
