FROM XEROX TO SpaceX, there’s a long history of technology companies using the letter ‘X’, so it seems appropriate that the XPeng G6 is described by its maker as a ‘smart EV’ (electric vehicle) – the automotive equivalent of your smartphone or smart TV.
The justification for this claim is that the G6 features artificial intelligence (AI) and an abundance of electronic safety aids. However, instead of the ‘X’ being there for marketing purposes, XPeng is actually named after its founder, He Xiaopeng. Still, regardless of how smart it is, the G6 faces stiffcompetition; rival electric SUVs include the Renault Scenic, Skoda Elroq and Tesla Model Y.
