How to revamps ODIs
In a follow-up to AB de Villiers’ suggestion in last month’s magazine that 50-over matches might benefit from a twoinnings concept [meaning four innings across a match], I thought I would share ideas I have been touting to friends for a couple of years.
The 50-over game does need a revamp. The public and the players’ ‘focal length’ has been shortened by T20. So here is a template that will encompass the dynamism of T20 but include some of the more cerebral aspects of the longer format:
