Hello!
ISSUE 152 || AUGUST 2022
I have always been a solitary runner. My negative experiences with PE at school mean that I am deeply averse to any sporting activity that includes the word ‘team’. In fact, any request to join a team results in me swiftly running for the hills in the opposite direction. If only there were medals for running away.
However, my love of lonely longdistance running has recently been brought into question.
I completed my Leader in Running Fitness qualification about six months ago (I am, quite literally, as amazed as you are at this development). As a result, I have wanted to test my newfound skills, and push myself out of my comfort zone, by setting up the smallest of running groups. So now, every Monday morning, we run. Sometimes there are four of us, sometimes only two.
