The new psychological thriller author tells Adrian Magson how she profited from the pandemic
Adrian Magson
Debut author Sarah Bonner has something good to say about the pandemic: it brought about redundancy and allowed her to concentrate on her writing. Net result: Her Perfect Twin sees publication by Hodder & Stoughton imprint Hodder Studio this month.
A psychological thriller about identity and the possibility of re-invention, involving sibling rivalry and a toxic marriage, it began life as a short story.
‘Originally,’ says Sarah, ‘it was about a woman debating if she should go on a second date with a man who thought she was her identical twin. Once I’d decided that he thought Megan was the other twin because she was trying to cover up a murder, I realised her story was far too big to be told in a few thousand words!’
