Q I’ve always wanted to write, and lockdown seemed like the perfect opportunity. I went from staring at a blank screen to words pouring out of me! What I hadn’t anticipated is how all-consuming it would be. At first, I was intending to write 50,000 words, but to my surprise, delight and slight horror it’s sailing past 100,000 words with no sign of letting up. A writer friend told me I need to (figuratively) kill my darlings but I can’t see the wood for the trees. Do you have any advice?
