SUBMISSIONS: LITMAG
Keep an eye on this magazine
By Jenny Roche
Speculative fiction magazine Three Lobed Burning Eye (3LBE) was founded in 1999 and is published online three time a year. Each issue contains four original stories, some of which have audio reading. Content can be read, or listened to, on the website.
Stories should have ‘imagination in character, narrative and plot. We want to see something new and different’ say editors, who believe in ‘diverse characters and points of view’. Extreme horror, excessive descriptions of violence or gore, and erotica are not wanted although there can be ‘hotness’ in the context of a story.
Flash fiction submissions should be under 1,000 words and short stories may be 1,001-7,500 words long although 2,000-5,000 words is preferred. If your piece is accepted you will have the option to record it yourself or have one of the magazine’s narrators do this.
Payment rates are $100 for short stories and $30 for flash fiction plus a copy of the print anthology which is produced every other year.
