INTRODUCTIONS
Writing Magazine presents a selection of theatres wanting scripts. We strongly recommend that you familiarise yourself with their guidelines before submitting and check websites, where given, for submission details.
The Traverse Theatre, Scotland’s leading theatre dedicated to new writing, has an open script submission window until 30 September.
The Traverse has a reputation for staging powerful stories that explore big ideas. Submissions should be bold, innovative new writing for theatre that deals with the world we live in. Plays should be suitable for staging either in the large Traverse 1 space, or the intimate Traverse 2.
Plays are accepted by writers from the UK and Ireland, and must not have been previously produced. Don’t send adaptations, poems, novels, short stories or scripts intended for TV, film or radio. Only one play submission is accepted per writer per year. Don’t send redrafts of previously submitted work, musicals, history plays or bio-plays.
