Yachting Life  |  Apr-14
It looks like anniversaries year for Clyde sailing’s major regattas with the Scottish Series celebrating its 40th edition, while both the Kip Regatta and Largs Regatta Week will enjoy silver jubilee status.
Big news on the cruising front centres on the Commonwealth Flotilla cruising up river to Glasgow. A 250 boat fleet will muster at JWD Marina in Greenock and cruise in company eastwards to Pacific Quay, the media hub in Glasgow’s city centre, all in time to take in the July atmosphere of the Commonwealth Games.
Also, there’s a terrific story about Viking Magnus Bareleg who helmed an overland ‘sail’ in his longboat as it was towed across to Tarbert, Loch Fyne, a few centuries ago…
All that and more in Yachting Life April edition, also created digitally and available anywhere on the planet.
Ideal for ex-pat sailors missing being afloat on home waters.
