HOW TO... clean outdoor furniture
The British weather can play havoc with garden furniture, but with a bit of TLC you can get it looking its best again…
☑ Metal garden furniture will most likely be either aluminium or steel, both of which can easily be cleaned. As a first step, clean off dust with a cloth, then wash it with hot water. If there are any stubborn stains refusing to budge, then try a paste made of water and baking soda. As baking soda can be a bit aggressive, put a bit on your cloth and try it on a small area of the metal and see if it leaves scratches. If not, apply it on your stains. Don’t use anything abrasive on painted furniture as you will risk scratching the finish.
