We test... toasters
We tried out a selection of four-slice toasters, here’s what we found…
THINGS WE CONSIDERED
⚫ Did it toast evenly?
⚫ How wide were the slots?
⚫ How much space did it take up?
RUSSELL HOBBS LEGACY FOUR-SLICE, £49.99
This had an attractive retro design, with a stylish reflective chrome surface, however, the toaster was large, so you would need a decent space on a kitchen worktop. It had deep toaster racks, so the bread or bagel got an even amount of toasting without having to turn half way through. It was easy to use, with self-explanatory buttons. The handy crumb trays, which were easy to remove, were an excellent feature.
