This was a very special personal project for me, and from gathering references until hitting ‘render’ it was a long journey with multiple challenges. However, it was the project that I learned the most while working on it. My goal was to achieve an appealing scene from space, something that can touch people's hearts. I remember that when I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut, but now that I am a 3D artist, why not create one? Or even better, two!
Nowadays, space exploration is a topic that a lot of people are talking about, and this is very exciting! So a lot inspired me to create this project, including concept art, movies, the International Space Station, and all the news about going to space. All this came in handy when looking for references. The final scene was a combination of concept art I found, plus real electronics from space stations and, the most important thing, some of my own personality.
