BRITTEN-NORMAN HAS signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Evia Aero for 15 new BN-2Islanders. Delivery is scheduled to commence at the beginning of 2027 with each airframe scheduled for later conversion to zero-emissions hydrogen fuel-cell propulsion systems being designed by Cranfield Aerospace Solutions (CAeS) as part of Project Fresson. The collaboration between the Lee-on-Solent-based manufacturer and the German start-up airline includes a redesign of the Islander’s interior to increase “passenger comfort and functionality, as well as ensuring compatibility with sustainable aviation technologies.”
