Hello and welcome to the March issue of Airliner World, incorporating Airports of the World. A milestone was reached on January 5, 2025, when Jet2.com operated the final passenger flights of a British-registered Boeing 757. It was a historic moment and we at Airliner World were fortunate to be there to witness it firsthand. After 42 years of service, the Seattle Rocket has flown its final passengers for UK carriers. As is often the case with January, the weather was a mixed bag – on this particular day, a snowstorm hit the UK, casting uncertainty over the final flights of the venerable Alpha India. Despite the challenges, the flights went ahead. We’ve dedicated this month’s cover story to recounting the event, and I’d like to extend a special thanks to the crew for their hard work and patience throughout – there was a lot of photo taking and the longest queue for a flight deck visit I’ve ever seen!
