Tornabuoni Art London’s upcoming exhibition Recto/Verso, which runs from April 20-June 17, offers visitors a chance to see more of Italian post-war art than ever before.
Which is to say, it shows the backs of paintings by four Milanese avant-garde artists who worked in the 1950s and ‘60s.
Each artist has a painting suspended from the ceiling above plinths, allowing a 360-degree view of the work in a style used by at least two major institutions in recent times. As well as Vik Muniz: Verso, which the Mauritshuis held in 2016, there is the ongoing show Michelangelo/ Sebastiano at London’s National Gallery.
