The people of Lochgair awoke on a Monday morning to find a crime had been committed in their midst. Members of Lochgair Gardening Group said that they were shocked to see that a passing traveller (presumably) on the A83 through Lochgair decided – at some point late on Sunday October 21 or early the following morning – to help themselves to a conifer which had pride of place in a planter opposite Lochgair Hotel.
This, and the beautiful garden opposite, are maintained by Carol and Douglas Braidwood on behalf of the village.
Anyone visiting Lochgair will have seen the planters do fitted along the foreshore of Loch Gair and the newly created garden on the site of Scottish Water’s septic tank, which are carefully tendered by members of the gardening group as they add colour throughout the year to the village.
