A plea has been made for volunteer drivers who could help transport books from Arran to Edinburgh.
Brodick Church had a very successful annual summer fete last month, and one of their biggest displays of books for sale for many years. Inevitably there were many books left unsold, far more than the church can store until next year, despite a quantity having already been delivered to ArCaS.
A solution has been found, but it needs help. The organisers of the largest annual secondhand book sale in Britain, in aid of Christian Aid, is held over several days each May in Edinburgh, and in the last 10 years has raised more than £1 million. To achieve this remarkable result is a year-long task collecting and storing books donated from all over the country, and Brodick Church want to deliver their surplus to this worthy cause.
