End of an era indeed


The closure of two of Arran’s longest-running establishments and stalwarts of the restaurant industry brings with it some sadness but also happiness in the fact that, after more than half a century between them, the owners can finally take some much-needed respite after long and successful careers.

Possibly the longest-running single-owner restaurant, the Trafalgar in Whiting Bay, which has been a magnet for the area for years, has closed its doors after 30 years in the business.
