RUNNING legend Ron Hill took a heavy tumble at the City of Salford 10km on Sunday, though the 77-year-old soldiered on to complete the race with blood pouring from his arm.

In a long post-race interview, after Hill had been seen to and patched up by medics, the European and Commonwealth marathon champion, who turns 78 this month, said he’d been tripped in the final kilometre and had “skinned” his shoulder in the fall, though appeared in good spirits.
