FIGHTBACK AGAINST ILLEGAL FISH NETTING BEGINS
Anglers are fighting back against poachers on one of Britain’s best rivers.
The River Thames now offers the best fishing it has for many years, but that could be under threat from illegal netting. As reported in last week’s Angler’s Mail, a 175 ft gill net was found strung across Teddington Weir on the tidal river in South West London. Local anglers are concerned that this isn’t just
an isolated incident, so they are taking action to try to deter poachers from doing the same again.
