Based in the West Sussex town of Worthing, Henry Nicholls began dealing in antiques when he was eight years old, rummaging through the clutter at his grandmother’s house and then selling anything that caught his obviously keen eye.
In the 1970s he graduated to school fetes and aged 17, it was house clearances: “I couldn’t believe how much hard work they were but I loved the sense of adventure.
