Jewellery is the single biggest element of the LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair (September 13-19), with 13 specialist dealers and a handful of others who will include items of personal adornment alongside decorative arts or antiquities.
A few of that baker’s dozen have their trading base down the road at Grays Antiques Centre (the best place for quality antique jewellery in London) but it’s all about location, location, location. The Berkeley Square fair provides a sense of occasion and the chance of some spectacular passing trade.
On September 18, at 3pm, jewellery designer Andrew Prince will give a presentation called Downton to Gatsby: Jewellery & Fashion 1890-1929. See LAPADA fair preview in Dealers’ Diary, p38.
