A rising star of the post-war art market, John Minton (1917-57) also designed several posters, undertaking commissions from BEA, GPO and Ealing Studios.
This 3ft 4in x 2ft 1in (1.02m x 63cm) example entitled London’s River is his only poster for London Transport, dated to 1951.
Originally part of a ‘pair poster’ (one showing the image and the other the text detailing London bridges), it is priced at £950 from Cotswolds dealership Books & Things.
