Absolutely perfect golfing conditions greeted the competitors on Saturday August 11 for the firrst round of the Archie MacNab Memorial Cup, which is played in a Stableford format.
Club champion John MacNab set the early pace with a two over par 68 which gave him 41 Stableford points. Back to back birdies for John at holes nine and 10 boosted his score and resulted in a handicap reduction to six.
Iain Macalister is the closest challenger to John with 40 points, Iain had a storming back nine of 31 shots for 23 points to add to his firrst round of 17, birdies on the first, 15th and 17th helping Iain’s score.
