Patience is the key - and don’t pull the wool

LOOKING out over the isle of Jura, Danna Farm, near Tayvallich, was the venue earlier this week for a beginners’ course in sheep shearing.

The British Wool Marketing Board runs training events from basic to advanced level at venues throughout Scotland and this course saw seven young clippers turn up in the hope of gaining their blue, bronze or silver sheep shearing certificate.
