THE 2016 Bank of America Chicago Marathon is still hoping for a good race this weekend despite the withdrawal of world record-holder Dennis Kimetto.
The Kenyan, who clocked 2:02:57 in Berlin 2014 and a Chicago course record 2:03:45 in 2013, pulled out of the event with a stress fracture.
Ethiopia’s Tsegaye Kebede is another former champion in the men’s field and is joined by Kenya’s defending champion Dickson Chumba, the second quickest in the field (2:04:32), and Abel Kirui, the world champion in 2009 and 2011.
