AN ELECTRONIC detection system to determine an athlete’s contact with the ground during race walks has moved to the design stage and hopes to be ready for implementation in time for the 2019 World Championships in Doha, insidethegames.biz reports.
Contracts have been signed by two creators of pre-industrial prototypes of insoles able to detect loss of contact with the ground – one for use in training, the other in competition.
