A POLICE officer from Hemel Hempstead has been named as the one millionth finisher in London Marathon history.
The 36th edition of the race had been preparing to make the announcement, and it was 39-year-old Shannon Foundy, crossing the line in 5:45:18, who took the honour.
Running to raise money for the Luton & Dunstable Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which saved the life of her prematurely-born daughter Catrin back in 2010, Foundy said: “I ran to say thank you to the Luton & Dunstable NICU and it is the most worthwhile thing I have ever done.
