PIPPA WOOLVEN says she’s forcing herself to take her cross-country season more seriously as she now attempts to make the British team for the European Championships next month after a strong start to her winter.
The 23-year-old steeplechaser won the opening Cross Challenge event in Milton Keynes on Saturday (see p40-44) and is now targeting winning a first senior GB vest at the trials in Liverpool.
Asked whether she now had an international place on her mind, Woolven said: “If you’d asked a month ago I’d say I might turn up [in Liverpool] and jog around, but now I think I’m a bit more hopeful for a good shot at it so I’ll certainly give it a go.
