WITH A VIEW OF THE ORIGINAL STAIRCASE WINDING OVER THE EXPOSED RIDGE, this sitting room provides an ideal spot for reflection. In keeping with the architect’s original intent, the tongue-and-groove paneling was left natural throughout the house, creating a feeling of warmth. In contrast, engineered prefinished hardwood flooring was used in the main living areas. The window trim was changed from white to a blackened gray, as were the exposed beams in other areas of the home. The décor is minimal yet very effective and puts the perfect finishing touches on this contemplative space.
