Hello,
Looking back over 2019, if there is one person who has made their presence and message known, it’s Greta Thunberg. The passionate girl who skipped school to protest climate change has seen unprecedented media attention and created a movement bigger than anyone could have expected. At the tender age of 16 years old, she has achieved more than most will in their lifetimes. But she’s not the only one standing up for what they believe in and creating positive change. This issue we have rounded up some of our heroes of the past year, from Leonardo DiCaprio to Genesis Butler, and we are so grateful to these people for using their platforms for good.
But it isn’t just the big names that need celebrating. Since the start of Be Kind, we have given the spotlight to the smaller, but no less significant, names doing their bit to improve the planet and the lives of those on it. We have met some truly wonderful, selfless people who work tirelessly to create a better world.
So, to all the brilliant beings setting up and running zero-waste shops, to the soup kitchens making sure homeless people receive a hot meal, to the lift sharers, the litter pickers, the plastic-free period campaigners, the animal lovers, the bee protectors, the food-waste fighters, the cruelty-free cosmetic brands, and all those trying to put a smile on the faces of those having a rough time, we thank you. The time you give up, the things you do and the messages you share make a real difference. And kindness is catching, so let’s keep spreading joy into 2020.

Have a very merry Christmas,
