Did you know that food waste in the UK alone tallies in at £20 billion worth of edible scraps, and 25 million tonnes of greenhouse gases? In fact, 8 per cent of global emissions can be attributed to food waste – which is an unacceptable amount for something that is a surplus. If food waste were a country, it would be the third largest contributor to greenhouse gases on the planet (behind China and the USA), which is why it’s so important to recognise the essential work companies are doing in an effort to mitigate, and one day overcome, this issue. Here are a few of the good ones.
