Separate spaces
A beautiful rear extension and a sizeable garden annexe were finished in marble to complete this family’s stunning renovation project
Alluring and functional in equal measure, this scheme by Richard Bridges and James Webster, of Alexander Owen Architecture, has completely transformed this family home in East Dulwich, south east London. The owners of the property, Faye Hamilton and Daniel Vacassin, wanted a modern reworking of their Victorian mid-terrace to increase living space and provide room for them and their three sons to enjoy time together.
The couple were keen to use a local practice to work on their design, and they discovered Alexander Owen Architecture after seeing a staircase they had created at a community hub – Peckham Levels – which is just a few miles down the road from their home.
