Government to delay planned boiler ban
On 20th September, the government announced that the proposed ban on installing new gas and oil boilers would be pushed back by 10 years, taking the deadline to 2035. It’s also increasing heat pump grants from £5,000 to £7,500. At the time of publication, however, this increase only applies to the voucher size within the existing Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) funding. We don’t yet know whether the overall pool of money for installing new heat pumps has increased.
