A man who trapped a family inside their home while threatening to harm himself as he held an open can of petrol has had his sentence deferred. Dean McSporran, 26, of 42 Smith
Drive, pleaded guilty part way through a Campbeltown Sheriff Court trial, to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at a Campbeltown address on April 23 after two witnesses gave evidence.
Procurator fiscal depute Eoin McGinty called the mother of the family to give evidence. The witness described McSporran as ‘a vulnerable person’ and said her family had tried to help him out for many years.
