THE WRITING has been on the wall for a number of years that Kintyre’s public conveniences are under threat.
At Argyll and Bute Council’s Policy and Resources Committee meeting on October 19, as part of swingeing cuts, it was proposed to close 36 of the local authority’s 57 public toilets, including those at Bolgam Steet and Hall Street, as well as many of Kintyre’s more rural loos, with the loss of seven jobs.
