UMC/MERCURY
The brainchild of Britfunk guitarist/producer Bluey, Incognito have adapted their sound to take in acid jazz, house and any other new genre with a groove along the way. The covers Always There and Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing are their big mainstream tunes, with the two singles CDs on this 8CD 40th anniversary boxset highlighting Incognito’s range. Occasionally succumbing to overly loose jams, notably Colibri, they’re still offering euphoric power. The duets disc shows Dianne Joseph should be as celebrated as Always There vocalist Jocelyn Brown, a dynamite presence on Cut It Loose.
