Choose the correct ad-blocking filters
Like AdGuard – see our Workshop in Issue 721 (page 38) – Brave lets you block more ads and other online annoyances by enabling extra filter lists. These boost the protection offered by its Shields feature, provided you know which filters to use.
Version 1.83 of the browser, released in early October, makes things easier by providing descriptions of its filter lists – rather than just their names. To view them, click Brave’s three-line menu button and select Settings then Shields, followed by ‘Content filtering’.
