Homeowners Hamish McIntosh and Claire Stevens relish the space and serenity at their Milora property.
WHAT BEGAN AS A BLANK CANVAS has evolved into a special place to spend time with family and friends for Hamish McIntosh and Claire Stevens. Located near Milora in the Scenic Rim region in Queensland, their 16-hectare property Glynngarth is surrounded by patchwork farmland, a scattering of volcanic peaks and the Great Dividing Range.
It was that view to the rugged rampart of Cunninghams Gap and Main Range National Park that sold this family on the property six years ago. Hamish, 41, and Claire, 39, from Brisbane, were searching for acreage within an hour of the city to keep polo horses and enjoy as a weekend retreat. They viewed several properties in the Scenic Rim and in 2019 eventually settled on this block just north of Boonah, which was a former dairy-farm subdivision.
“There was nothing on the block – it was just a dam and boundary fence and that was about it,” Claire recalls. “But it had a really lovely feeling about it and a beautiful view of the ranges.”
