Dante  |  DANTE Spring 2018
This is our Spring Issue in our new improved quarterly form. We are back in optimistic mood and appropriately full of the joys of spring. All of human life is here, with our usual wide-ranging choice of topics. All are worth celebrating.
It’s not just that the daffodils are coming up - hence our British spring picture on these pages, shot near Dymock, Gloucestershire. It’s not just the welcome prospect of summer following on during the shelf-life of this issue. It is mainly that despite all life’s slings and arrows and warnings of gloom, doomsday, death and destruction, there is still a lot of positivism out there.
If we are doing “reasons to be cheerful” let’s start with some of our highlights. Massimo Gava talks to writer Michael Arditti, whose excellent new novel Of Men and Angels is published on March 22 – we like to be first. Michael tells us about the huge amount of research that went into an epic tale that runs from ancient Babylon to Renaissance Florence and finally 20th-century Hollywood.
We are lucky to show rarely-seen pictures by Duffy, one of the great 1960s photographers, and speak to Chris Duffy about the body of work that ranges from David Bowie’s “Aladdin Sane” LP cover to images of John Lennon and Michael Caine as well as stunning fashion shots. Other interviews include Italian Eurovision stars Jalisse. Plus much, much more... Do enjoy the issue
