Yes, of course, we are all different. South Asian women are not simply one homogenous group. This said, something that so many of us do have in common is the experience of being raised in families where the preservation of “family honour” and the avoidance of community shame are inextricably linked to female sexual behaviour. Our behaviour. Intersectionality for us includes negotiating this extra whopping barrier to living well as our (queer) selves. GIN & Lime is a space we can find others like us and where we can empower each other to live authentically.
