Nick as a Kiwi Assassin. Sexy as, eh, bro?
DNA: How does the leap from Bondi Hipster, internet star to Soul Matestelevision star feel? Nick Boshier: It’s brilliant! I started doing Trent from Punchy and the cartoon Beached Az, which were so internet they couldn’t have existed on any other platform, and then when Christiaan [Van Vuuren] and I got together to do Bondi Hipsters I think we always had the ambition to move into television. The fact that 52 episodes led to TV was a real manifestation of, “Fuck! We did it! This is good!” But for me it was also terrifying because when writing online you can get away with blue murder. You can cuss at a webcam and not have to justify anything. For TV we thought, “Fuck!” But we’re starting to get our heads around it!
What sold the Soul Matesshow to the ABC?
