Embroidery Magazine  |  Sept/Oct 2025
Embroidery magazine’s autumn issue is packed full of inspiring artists, events and exhibitions. The season brings the feeling of a fresh start and we have plenty to motivate you as we look at one of the key highlights in the textile art calendar, the Knit + Stitch show, picking up on the work of Chilean artist Carmen Mardonez and stalwart of the stitch scene, Lynn Setterington.
We take a look at sustainable stories too, including an artist who has recycled waste to create a spectacular and fearsome creature for Fortnum & Mason’s autumn window display; plus we look beyond The Nettle Dress film, two years on.
Artists featured include the hugely talented Katy Rundle, our cover star; Liz Padgham-Major, who uses vibrant colour on wearable art; art under the microscope from Laura Sanchez; pieces that convey the spirit of place from Adam Halls; plus Jonathan Baldock and his zoo of hybrid animals.
We also look inside the Sewing Room of Celia Pym, discover this year’s talented Royal School of Needlework graduates and look forward to the British Textile Biennial.
There’s so much more, with everything from community stories to historic works, and book and exhibition reviews – it’s too good to miss!
